In our article Military Dog Becomes Trending News, we presented a Belgian Malinois whose picture was circulated by numerous international media and news outlets after President Donald J. Trump published it on his personal Twitter account.
This hero dog was launched to stardom following her crucial role as part of the SEALs team that captured and killed the leader of ISIS. Given the confidential nature of Special Operations, the dog’s name was kept a secret until it was safe to declassify it and make it public. Only a few days after becoming an internet sensation, President Donald J. Trump took to his Twitter account once again to identify the pooch as ‘Conan’, and announce that an invitation to the White House had been extended to the canine hero.
On November 25, 2019, Conan finally reached the White House and was honored by President Trump, with Vice President Mike Pence and First Lady Melania Trump also in attendance. Conan was awarded a medal and a plaque as recognition of the role and service of the fido as a member of the special forces.
When Conan’s picture was first circulated, several news outlets advised that the dog had sustained injuries while performing the mission that captured one of the most wanted terrorists worldwide. During the visit to The White House, it was clear that Conan’s injuries had been minor and the beloved pooch had fully recovered, much to everyone’s delight.
